So I dyed my cats pink with leftover beet water. No regrets! <3 :D
I had to wash them because of some oil spill they had gotten into, and chose to use the beet water, which is perfectly safe. I had no idea it would really make them this pink.

talking about wild haggis with the guy because reasons
it’s easy to wonder why joffrey is clearly cersei’s favorite child. book!cersei seems very blind to joffrey’s faults (whether she’s willfully blind or whether she really doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with his behavior is not something we know. even in her affc internal monologues, her love and admiration for joffrey never wavers.)
despite that, it does seem really hard to understand why cersei would pick joff as her favorite when both myrcella and tommen are incredibly pleasant and sweet and charming. and while we don’t know this yet about tommen, myrcella is definitely super bright. none of these things really apply to joffrey.
i think that joffrey represents something really huge and really important in cersei’s life. the very existence of joffrey is basically the first time adult cersei (or any cersei?) ever got to exercise any agency over her own life. during the only other time she tried to do this, which was her adolescent attempt to convince jaime to join the kingsguard so they could be together in king’s landing, tywin completely foiled her plans by moving her back to casterly rock.
so joffrey is an instance of cersei thinking “i loathe this man i am married to; jaime is the man whose children i’d be proud to have. he’s the one who treats me the way i’d like to be treated. so i’m going to have his children.” this decision is cersei’s to make. she has the choice. she has the power. and then, a few moon’s turns later, the human embodiment of her finally getting to have agency over something in her own life enters the world. so joff’s not merely her firstborn son; he is the first time she’s ever gotten the experience to see what it is like to make her own choices and have her choices succeed.
